1.3 Eukaryotic And Prokaryotic Cells Flashcards
Eukroyatic cells structure and what cells
-animals and plant cells are eukroyatic.
Contain:cell membrane, cytoplasm (contains ribosomoes, mitchindria and chloroplasts) and genetic material enclosed in nucleus
-genetic material called DNa forms structures called chromosomes which are contained in nucleus.
-plants,fungi and protista are eukaryotes
Prokaryotic cells structure and what cells?
-bacteria cells are prokaryotic and are much smaller.
Contains: cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, single ciruclar strand of DNA and plasmids
Bacteria cells-prokaryotic
-bacertial chromosome is a single DNA found free in cytoplasm
-contain small rings of DNa called plasmids which code for sepcific featyres such as antibiotic resistance
Contain: cell membrane, slime capsule, cell wall, plasmids,DNA,cytoplasm, flagella
Falgella is a long protein strand that lashes about which they use to create movement
Order of magnitude
-understand how much bigger or smaller one is from another
-if an object is 10 times bigger=101 bigger
-if object is 1000 times bigger=103 times bigger
-if an object is 10 times smaller=10*-1 smaller
