This is an aromatized sweet wine which has been produced for more than 200 years and this region has achieved considerable fame for it.
How is Vino Naranja produced?
In the crafting of this wine, neutral grape spirit is macerated w/ bitter orange rinds for a min. of 6 months. The rinds are removed, the liquid clarified & filtered, then added to sun-dried grape must. The new wine is then aged for a min. 2 years via a solera system prior to bottling.
Where is DO Sierras de Malaga located?
This DOP shares the same production area as DO Malaga.
It is a non-continuous area in central Andalucia along the coast.
Grapes from this designatin are almost exclusively grown in the Serrania de Ronda sub-zone located in the Sistema Betico mountains at elevations exceeding 2,461ft/750m.
