Greek Dark Ages
A time of depopulation, poverty, and backwardness that left few traces in the archaeological record. Largely isolated from the rest of the world. With fewer people to feed, the land was largely given over to grazing animals.
Archaic Period
The isolation of Greece ended by 800 BCE when Phoenician ships began to visit the Aegean. It was characterized by the rise of the polis. Greek culture, political influence , and economy begin to flourish.
Classica Period
Period in Greece which the Athens and the Spartans arises and the Ancient Greek empire strenthens.
Hellenistic Period
The three centuries of Greek history between the death of the Macedonian king Alexander the Great in 323 B.C.E. and the rise of Augustus in Rome in 31 B.C.E. It is the period in which Greek cultural influence and power reached its peak in the Mediterranean and beyond such as arts, politics, social, and economical.
