Anatomy Lecture 16_Heart & CV Flashcards
What are the three names for the left AV valve?
Left atrioventricular valve, the bicuspid valve, and the mitral valve
What are the two names for the right AV valve?
Right atrioventricular valve, tricuspid valve
How many flaps (cusps) are on the semilunar valves?
- The pulminary vein has a right, left and anterior flap while the aorta has a right, left, and posterior flap.
What part of the heart cycle causes the “lub” sound?
closure of the AV valves
What part of the heart cycle causes the dub sound?
Closure of the semi lunar valves
What parasympathetic nerve innervates the heart?
The vagus nerve!
What sympathetic nerves innervate the heart?
T1-T5
What nerves innervate the Larynx
The vagus nerve innervates the larynx. recurrent laryingial nerves (branches of the vagus) innervate the posterior aspect.
What heart landmark can help identify the recurrent laryingial nerves?
They wrap inferior to the arch of the aorta.
