Q

How do you test for anastemosis between the ulnar and radial arteries (Allen’s Test)?

A
  • Test for collateral circulation between the Ulnar and Radial Arteries
  • Pinch off both arteries at wrist
  • Make a fist several times to remove blood
  • Let go of the ulnar artery while keeping pressure on radial
  • See if blood flow reaches entire hand
