Anatomy Lab Tissue Identification Flashcards
What is the tissue type shown? What are the two major cell types within?
It is nervous tissue. The large cells are neurons and the small cells are glial cells (support cells).
What is the tissue type seen? What kind of tissue is it?
Areolar tissue - loose connective tissue
What is the tissue type seen? What is the name of the fine fibers in it?
Reticular tissues - reticular fibers (smallest of 3 fibers in connective tissue)
What is the tissue type seen here? What area of the body is it seen?
Osseous tissue - compact bone
What is the tissue type seen here? What type of tissue is it?
Adipose - loose connective (located in the hypodermis)
What are the three types of muscle tissue? What are some basic differences?
Skeletal (striated, voluntary, multinucleate); Cardiac (striated, involuntary, mostly uninucleate, more irregular); Smooth (tight-fitting cells, uninucleate, involuntary)
Name the type of tissue and it’s location
Cardiac Muscle Tissue - heart only
What type of tissue is this?
Simple columnar epithelial - for secreting
