Anatomy 4 Part 2 Flashcards
Which the girdle is more stable and it provides less freedom of movement
Shoulder or pelvic girdle ?
Pelvic Girdle
Ligaments of Sacroiliac joints
Anterior and Posterior Sacroiliac
Types of these joint
Sacroiliac joints
Sacrococcygeal joint
symphysis pubis
synovial
Secondary cartilaginous
Secondary cartilaginous
Types of ligaments support these joints
Sacroiliac joints
Sacrococcygeal joint
symphysis pubis
Anterior and posterior
Anterior and posterior
Inferior and superior
Iliac crest begins at the………. superior iliac spine and ends at the……… superior iliac spine.
anterior
posterior
The lateral posterior surface of the ilium has 3 rough curved lines called
posterior, anterior, and inferior gluteal lines
Ischium
L shaped, possessing an upper thicker part, the body, and a lower thinner part, the ramus.
ischiopubic ramus.
Lower thinner Ischial ramus joins the inferior ramus of the pubis
The ischial spine
The ischial spine projects from the posterior border of the ischium. It intervenes between greater and lesser sciatic notches.
The ischial tuberosity
rough bony projection at the junction of the inferior end of the body of the ischium and its ramus.
Lower thinner ramus and upper thicker body
WHAT ARE THE BORDERS OF PELVIC INLET?
WHAT ABOUT THE PELVIC OUTLET?
The junction between the greater and lesser pelvis is known as pelvic inlet. The outer bony edges of the pelvic inlet are called the pelvic brim.
• Anteriorly: Symphysis pubis.
• Lateral: Iliopectineal (arcuate) lines.
• Posteriorly: Promontry and ala of sacrum.
Pelvic Outlet
Pelvic outlet is located at the end of lesser pelvis, and is covered by the pelvic diaphragm. Its borders are:
• Posterior: Tip of the coccyx.
• Lateral: Ischial tuberosities.
• Anterior: Pubic arch.
Type of hip joint
Ball-and-Socket synovial joint
the Acetabular Labrum
Fibrocartilaginous ring deepens the acetabulum.
It is for Stability and Weight-bearing (No large movement range).
Hip joint
WHAT ARE ATTACHMENTS OF JOINT CAPSULE?
• Anteriorly:
a. Proximally: bone surrounding the acetabulum.
b. Distally: Inter-trochanteric line.
• Posteriorly:
a. Proximally: Margins of Acetab
