Causes of Iron deficiency anaemia

A

inadequate intake - vegetarians/vegans

impaired absorption - Coeliac disease, Crohn’s

Chronic blood loss - menstruation, GI malignancy, Hookworm

A bone marrow problem - investigate bone marrow
