broad spectrum penicillin
A
Therapeutic class- antibacterial
Pharm class- cell wall inhibitor, aminopenicillin
Pregnancy cat- B
Contraindications- allergy to any penicillin drug class
Adverse- rash and diarrhea
- Patient/family-
- Take on empty stomach with 8oz water
- take all meds as prescribed
- report severe or persistent diarrhea with fever
- Do not treat penicillin related diarrhea with OTC products
- Immediately report signs of allergy
- report if no improvement after a few days
