Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?

N’as-tu pas vu comment ton Seigneur a agi envers les gens de l’Éléphant?

Did He not make their plan into misguidance?

N’a-t-Il pas rendu leur ruse complètement vaine?

وَأَرسَلَ

and he sent

أَبَابِيل

(in) flocks

وَأَرسَلَ عَلَيهِم طَيرًا أَبَابِيل

And He sent against them birds in flocks,

Et envoyé sur eux des oiseaux par volées

تَرمِيهِم

striking them

بِحِجَارَةٍ

with stones

مِّن

سِجِّيل

baked clay

تَرمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيل

Answer 24

Striking them with stones of hard clay,

Qui leur lançaient des pierres d’argile?

Question 25

فَجَعَلَهُم

Answer 25

then he made them

Question 26

كَعَصفٍ

Answer 26

like straw

Question 27

مَّأْكُول

Answer 27

eaten up

Question 28

فَجَعَلَهُم كَعَصفٍ مَّأْكُول

Answer 28

And He made them like eaten straw.

Et Il les a rendus semblables à une paille mâchée.
