Air Data System (ADS) Flashcards
What data does the ADS use
Altitude (Barometric) Vertical Speed Indicated air speed (IAS) True air speed (TAS) Outside air Temperature (OAT)
What is the purpose of the ADS?
Converts air pressures into digital format.
Where is the DADU?
Right hand nose bay.
Where is the data output to?
AHRS AFCS AMS CDS CIV NAV IAIS (not used)
What data is the DADU supplied with?
Pitot pressure
Static pressure
OAT
Where is the OAT probe?
Bottom left side of the fuselage.
What length is the probe cable?
Fixed length of known resistance.
Where is the ADU FLT/TEST switch?
KJA
What ensures the TEST switch cant be left in TEST?
Spring loaded switch.
What happens when you operate the TEST switch?
Voltage sent to AFCS that acts as test height for bar alt height hold testing. (50 ft)
Voltage sent to the CAC to simulate air speed testing the lateral accelerometers. (100 KTS)
Where are the outputs from the DADU displayed?
PFD
What indicators are displayed on the PFD?
Airspeed Indicator (ASI) Barometric Altimeter (BarAlt) OAT Wind vector Secondary output to VSI indicator
Where is the Air speed indicator on the PFD?
Top Left
What scale is used for the ASI?
Linear from 0 - 200 kt - 20kt intervals
Digital read out box in centre scale shown to nearest KT.
Red speed exceedance band 168kt +
Where is the barometric altimeter on the PFD?
Top right but can optionally be changed to bottom right.
