- Lucullus hates Pompey who got all the credit. Cato and Lucullus lead optimal opposition and stop his requests
- Meanwhile, Cato and Lucullus don’t let the societies of publican (tax collectors) - redo the bid for Asia’s taxes. Crassus and Equites aren’t pleased.

To have a triumph, he had to be a military commander but would have to remain outside the Pomerium and couldn’t be present
