Adrenergic Agonists Flashcards
1
Q
Epinephrine
A
A1=A2; B1=B2
2
Q
Norepineprine
A
A1=A2; B1>B2
3
Q
Isoproterenol
A
Beta agonist
- used in emergency for cardiac support (increase HR, strength of contraction)
- watch because B2 dilation of blood vessels (diastolic will drop - low BP)
4
Q
Dopamine
A
D1>B1>B2>Alpha
- D1 on vasculature in the kidney (cause dilation)
- prevents renal ischemia in shock
- also stimulating B1 (heart)
- very good emergency drug
5
Q
Doputamine
A
B1>B2>Alpha
- B1 (cardiac support)
6
Q
Phenylephrine
A
A1>A2»Beta
- A1 vasculature constriction
- increase systemic BP
7
Q
Xylazine
A
A2>A1»Beta
- A2 (pre-ganglionic reducing neuronal excitability and adrenergic neural transmission)
- sedation
8
Q
Clenbuterol & Terbutaline
A
B2>B1»Alpha
- asthma (bronchiole relaxation) or to prevent early labour
- relax smooth muscle
- dilate arteries (not great)
- systemic can increase HR
