Tanner Stages: Boys
Genital
- Preadolescent
- Enlargement of the testes and scrotum. Scrotum roughens and reddens.
- Penis enlongates.
- Penis enlarges in width and develops glans. Rugae appear.
- Adult.
Tanner Stages: Girls
Breast Development
- Preadolescent.
- Breast buds.
- Breast enlargement WITHOUT separate nipple contour.
- Areola and nipple project as secondary mounds.
- Adult breasts. Nipple retracts.
Tanner Stages: Boys and Girls
Pubic Hair
- Preadolescent
- Sparse, pale, fine
- Becomes darker, more, and curlier
- Adult in character but not as voluminous
