1- Type of Treatment ( Active vs Passive)
2- Purpose of the treatment (Pain-reduction vs Disability reduction)
3. Effect of the treatment (short-term vs long-term effect)
4. Person-Centered? (patient preference vs edivdence-based practice)
What is active treatment?
Patient learns how to do the treatment from the therapist, and then applies it to themselves autonomously
What is passive treatment?
The therapist applies the treatment to the patient, patient is on the receiving end
What are examples of active treatments?
Exercise, Education, CBT
What are Passive treatments?
Massage, manual therapy, analgesic drugs, unjections, surgery, eletrophysical agents
