Additional principles of training (FITT) Flashcards
1
Q
Progressive Overload
A
Using the ‘FITT” principles to increase demands on the body and therefore train harder than normal
2
Q
Specificity
A
Training should be linked to the sport or activity
3
Q
Individual Differences
A
The program should be designed to meet individual goals/needs. (Time, access and prior fitness levels)
4
Q
Adaptation
A
How the body reacts to training by increasing its ability to cope. E.g increased muscle mass from lifting heavier weights)
5
Q
Reversability
A
If training stops, training effects are reversed. They do not stay the same
6
Q
Variation
A
Training should be altered to make it less boring
7
Q
Rest and recovery
A
Required so the body can recover form training and allow to adapt.
