- the different types of guests that the accommodation and lodging facilities appeal to (i.e. are the guests wealthy / well-off / rich or are they on a shoe-string / tight budget / backpackers?) ;
- the types of services offered;
- the needs of the guests; and
- how much the guests are willing to pay, i.e. room rates (ranges from cheaper budget hotels, mid-priced hotels to the more expensive luxury hotel); and
- room size;
