Tough life for labourers
- tough life bc of the physical hard labour they had to do
- workdays normally lasted more than 14 hours
- working behind machines caused faint of hunger, exhaustion, illness, drunkness, exhaustion
- bc of the effects it had there were a lot of accidents (ppl lost hands, got burned, dies)
- Factories was an unsaf enviorment –> filled w/ soot that damaged lungs
- hard to find a job
Socialism
- socialist belive life could be more perfect if the goverment made people more equal
- at the beginning the government did not protect the poor
First trade union and labour laws
- influenced by socialist views
- People started to unite in trade union
- ## one of the weapons they used was a strike
