Can you do a pax transfer from a ship that is not certified or waivered?
Prohibited except in extreme situations (emergency MEDEVAC)
Transfer of pax by hoist at night (ACS)

Shall be limited to op necessity to properly certified ships
Weight limit for cargo to be hoisted INTO the helo

What must you do first when lowering a hoist to the deck?
Ground the hoist
Personnel/Cargo hoisting at night
Routine personnel/cargo hoisting ops shall not be conducted at night
Securing rescue hoist to deck
Under no circumstances shall a line from an airborne helo be secured to a ship
When is a weighted bag required to lift cargo by rescue hoist?
Weighs less than 30 lbs
Sea state limit for submarine personnel transfer
Transfer should not be attempted in a sea state above 4
Transfer locations for subs and relative winds
In priority:
- Center of main deck (SSBN only), 320-350 @ 15-20
- Port sail plane/top of sail, 010-040 @ 15-20
- Starboard sail plane, 160-200 @ 15-20
Night transfers to submarines
Shall not be attempted except op necessity
If necessary:
Envelopes are the same
Sub shall attempt to rig lighting on sail, planes, and afterdeck
Small light at highest point
Helo may turn on flood/hover lights
Can you recover a drone or torpedo?
Drones/torpedoes shall be recovered only by specially configured helos w/ trained crew
Winds for VERTREP
Optimum: Headwind (330-030) w/ 15-30 kts
Acceptable: Quartering Headwind (270-330 or 030-090) 15-30 kts
Is good winds or steady deck preferred for VERTREP?
Steady deck but still w/in acceptable winds (to abeam either side)
Can you conduct VERTREP in a turn?
Yes if A/C Commander and HCO deem it safe
