16
Q

Emergency marshall

A

Location given by CATCC prior to launch w/ altitude and EEAT. At least 30 deg from primary marshall

17
Q

EAT

A

Expected approach time: time at which a/c is cleared to come inbound. Approach at this time if no further instruction received

18
Q

Father

A

Ship’s TACAN

19
Q

Final Bearing

A

Magnetic bearing assigned by CATCC for final approach (extension of LA Centerline)

20
Q

Final control

A

CATCC position responsible for control on final during CASE III until transfer to LSO or A/C reaches mins. Retains overall responsibility for separation

21
Q

Fox Corpen

A

Ship’s true heading during flight ops

22
Q

KILO report

A

A coded report from pilot indicating a/c mission readiness

23
Q

Marshal control

A

A control position in CATCC responsible for providing control and arrival info to inbound a/c until handed off to another controlling agency

24
Q

Mode III approach

A

A precision approach where the pilot is supplied position guidance from a final controller enabling a manually controlled precision approach to minimums

25
Q

Monitor control

A

The monitoring of radar and radio channels for emergency transmissions

26
Q

Nonradar control

A

Pilot flies according to published procedure or as prescribed by controlling agency. Traffic separation is provided by controlling agency using frequent pilot position reports and modified separation criteria.

Used only in emergency where radar is inop or unusable

27
Q

Operational commitment

A

A situation of such compelling urgency that failure to grant a deviation from established explosive safety criteria will have a deleterious impact on the mission readiness of naval forces

28
Q

Popeye

A

Pilot report indicating a/c flying in clouds or reduced vis

29
Q

Positive control

A

Controlling agency has radar and radio contract w/ a/c and published approach/departure procedures are complied w/ or…

Where specific assignments regarding heading and altitude are issued by the controller.

Alt separation is provided by pilot maintaining assigned altitude, later and time separation is the responsibility of the ATC controller. Speed changes may be directed by ATC

30
Q

Red light

A

The local time at which a helo will no longer be SAR capable and has approximately 30 minutes of flight time remaining

31
Q

A

Right hand racetrack

Between 045 and 110 relative to BRC

300’ and below

32
Q

3NM fix

A

Checkpoint on CCA on the final bearing 3NM from carrier through which all turboprop a/c and helos will pass in landing config
