Q

what is Ernestine’s equation that links energy with mass and what does it tell us

A

E = mc^2 which tells use mass can make energy and energy can make mass

Q

what is pair-production

A

it is a phenomenon at which both a particle and its equivalent anti-matter are both created simultaneously in a conversion of energy

Q

momentum and energy in pair-production

A

so in simple terms pair production is like explosions, the momentum and energy of each particle and its anti-matter need to add up to the same momentum and energy as the original form of energy that made them, also as in explosions the particles and its anti-matter need to have equal and opposite components of momentum in order for them to have zero direction like the energy before them did

Q

what are the properties of anti-particles

A

the same as there particles but their properties are opposite to them (for example a positive particle its anti particle would be negative)

Q

what is annihilation

A

is is the phenomenon in which a particle and its equivalent anti-matter are both destroyed simultaneously in a conversion into energy which is carried by a force carrier such as a proton

6
Q

why can we not use annihilation to power up things in the world

A

since there is little anti-matter in the world and if we find anti matter it will annihilate as soon as it getting in contact with matter so before we feed it into an electricity chamber
