Explain how to activate and deactivate the Oxygen Mask Microphone.
The oxygen mask microphone is enabled when the oxygen mask panel door is open. It is disabled when the mask panel door is closed and the TEST/RESET switch is pushed
Describe the Flight Interphone, Service Interphone and Passenger Address Systems
Flight inter phone - provides private communication between flight deck crew members without intrusion from the service interphone system.
Service Interphone - communication between flight deck, flight attendants and ground personnel
Pass address system - allows flight deck and flight attendants to make announcements to pax.
Describe operation of audio control panel
4 parts
1. Transmitter selector (MIC SELECTOR)
2. SELCAL Light - this is a “C” in the bottom of the Transmitter selector accompanied by a chime
3. Receiver Switches
4. Alternate - Normal (ALT-NORM) Switch
- NORM - ACP operates normally
- ALT - ACP operates in degraded mode - can’t use hand mic
Describe Degraded Audio System Operation
Switch ALT/NORM switch to ALT - in this mode the AP at that station is inoperative and the crew member can only communicate on one radio. - first officer is VHF 2 only
Hand held mic no longer works and pax address system no longer works
