#7 Immunogenetics Flashcards
1
Q
Autografts (autologous)
A
Grafts where tissue is moved from one place to another in the same individual
i.e. skin grafts (you won’t get rejection)
2
Q
Isografts (syngeneic)
A
Transplants between genetically identical individuals
3
Q
Allogenic grafts
A
Grafts between genetically different members of the same species
i.e. Kidney transplants
4
Q
Xenogeneic grafts
A
Grafts between members of different species
i.e. pig heart valves to humans
5
Q
Light chains of B cells
A
Contains 2 identical light chains (isotypes):
Either 2 identical κ (kappa) chains (encoded on chromosome 2)
Or 2 identical λ (lambda) chains (encoded on chromosome 22)
*Can’t have 1 of each- can’t mix them
