Organophosphate Exposure, Tx
Causes irreversible cholinesterase inhibition
Mild- Headache, dizziness, Pupil constriction
Moderate- Nausea, salivation, lacrimation, respiratory compromise
Severe- Pinpont pupils, respiratory difficulty, pulmonary edema, cyanosis
Treatment
- After cyanosis, 2-4mg of ATROPINE IV
- Repeat at 5-10 mins until atropinization appear
- Maintain for 24 hrs or longer
- 2 PAM Chloride, 1gm IV slowly, used for supportive therapy
Carbamate Poisoning
2 PAM Chloride is contraindicated
