A

What is an indirect object?

A

Comes between the action verb and the direct object and answers the question “to whom or what?” or “for whom or what?”
ex. The guests brought the birthday girl presents.
Presents, is what they brought, the direct object, and the birthday girl is who received them, the indirect object.

A

A noun or pronoun and almost never appears by itself without a direct object.
