State two challenges to rural areas
- Rural areas, by definition, suffer from lack of transport connections.

Most rural communities have important natural and historic heritage which is important at a national and sometimes international level. It often provides a resources in the context of tourism.
Describe infrastructure importance
- Access to modern infrastructure is vital to ensure a high quality of life, as well as easy access to information and the outside world.
- However: the Benefits Advice Service raises awareness of entitlements and assist people in their claims.
Describe affordable housing presence in rural areas
Access to a home remains difficult for many due to highly restrictive building policies. Therefore young adults leave for more suburban and urban areas. The lack of hope continues to grow.
However: Youth Development projects aim to equip young people with appropriate life skills.
