Q

describe the process of direct active transport (4)

A
  • molecule or ion binds to receptor sites on the carrier protein
  • ATP binds to the protein causing ATP hydrolysis and protein changes shape
  • molecule or ion is released to other side of the membrane
  • pi released from protein which causes shape to change back to its original shape

Q

what is co-transport?

A
