Marine operation
PURPOSE
To provide JFRD personnel with guidelines for responding to waterway incidents and deployment for hurricane operations.
MISSION
JFRD marine vessels shall be utilized for any fire or EMS emergency occurring on or near Jacksonville waterways, victim recovery, and to assist disabled or distressed vessels. Additionally, marine vessels can provide high volume water supply and master streams for fires at or near ____ facilities.
The ___ ____ has the ultimate authority concerning the safe operation of the vessel. The decision of what type of vessel to deploy, when dispatched, lies with the vessel master.
Land based companies may be dispatched to meet a marine vessel for incidents occurring on or near a waterway. Personnel from these companies may be used for additional staffing on the vessel, or the vessel may be used to take personnel and equipment to the incident location.
QUALIFICATIONS
All members assigned to a JFRD marine vessel shall be proficient in the skills listed on the Marine Vessel Minimum Skills Checklist.

Other JFRD Marine Assets
These smaller marine vessels may be used in small or shallow bodies of water.
• Station 40 (Marine 40) – 14 ft RHIB on a trailer
• Station 42 (Marine 42) – Jon boat and trailer
• Station 32 (Marine 32) – Jon boat and trailer
• Station 39 (Marine 39) – Jon boat on lift
• Station 38 (Marine 38) – 20ft shallow water “Mud Boat”, 14 ft RHIB on trailer
These boats have the advantage of ___, being able to be transported by ___ to a ___ close to the incident.
