TRIM TOOL

A

Unnecessary lines can be removed from a sketch. These lines may have previously assisted the drawing and are no longer needed.

LAYERS IN CAD

A

You can draw different details on different layers. This means they can be viewed independently or together and easily edited without changing the whole drawing.

Q

ARRAYS

A

Linear array is when objects are repeated in a line.

Box array is when objects are repeated in a box shape.

Radial array is when objects are repeated in a circle around a point.

Q

PROJECT EDGE TOOL

A

This allows you to take a length or chain or lengths from a solid copy onto a sketch. This is useful when you need to repeat the lengths. Offend used in top down modelling.

CONSTRAINTS

A

LINEAR
A linear constraint will lock a straight line to a vertical or horizontal direction.

PERPENDICULAR
This will lock a line at right angles to another line.

RADIUS OR DIAMETRE
This constraint allows the radii or diameter of a circle in a sketch to lock to a specific size. This is useful when a number of circles of the same size are required.

PARALLEL
This will lock two lines parallel to each other which is useful especially when drawing angled lines.

TANGENT
A tangent constraint will shape a circle to a straight line at a tangent point.

CONCENTRIC
This helps you draw circles with the same centre points to ensure accuracy.
