Changed the members of the CPS and CGS regularly, and repealed the law of prairial
What was the white terror?
The revolutionary tribunal killed many jacobin and sans culotte leaders
What principles did the Thermidorians introduce?
-France to remain a republic
-universal manhood suffrage to be abolished
-separation of powers
-executive and legislature should be equally powerful
-separation of the church and state
Why didn’t they return to a constitutional monarchy?
Louis’ son died in June 1795, and Louis’ brother said that when he regained control of tenace he would introduce the absolute monarchy and the estates system and execute those responsible for his brothers death (declaration of Verona)
What happened after the law of the general maximum was abolished?
Prices began to rise again leading to further discomfort among the urban poor

An armed crowd marched on the convention to demand bread. The convention deployed national guards against the crowd, but the gunners went to the side of the rebels

They sent 20,000 troops of the army to attack the suburbs from which the rebels had come
