What do ACP and RMP stand for? What are they?
ACP: Audio Control Panel (transmission and reception modes and volume knobs)
RMP: Radio Management Panel (frequency selection)

RMP 1
Can you control RMP 1 and 2 if they are switched off? How?
Yes, through RMP 3

Does the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) record through your headset microphone only when the PTT switch is used, or at all times?
It is a hot mike - it records at all times
What does CIDS stand for and what does it do?
Cabin Intercommunication Data System, which transmits, controls and processes signals for:
- Interphones
- PA
- Signs
- Lights
- Emergency evacuation signalling
- A lot more!

How long does the cockpit voice recorder record for?
2 hours
When does the CVR start recording?
- On the ground during the first 5 minutes after the aircraft electrical network is energised
- On the ground if the GND CTL pb is pressed
- On the ground with one engine running
- In flight
When does the CVR stop recording?
- When the circuit breakers are pulled (overhead panel E13/14, in event of incident)
- Automatically 5 minutes after the last engine shutdown
How long does the CVR ERASE pb have to be pressed for to erase the CVR?
2 seconds (only on the ground when parking brake is on)
What happens when the FWD or AFT pushbutton is pressed on the cabin crew “CALLS” panel on the overhead panel?
- Two lights come on in pink on the related area of the CALLS panel
- On the AIP (Attendant Indication Panel) “CAPTAIN CALL” appears a light comes on in green
- A high-low chime sounds once in that area of the cabin
What happens when the guarded EMER call pb is pressed?
- Two pink lights flash on all area call panels
- The “EMERGENCY CALL” messages appears on all AIPs
- A high-low chime sounds three times
If the ground staff or cabin crew call the cockpit, the appropriate pb on the ACP (either MECH or ATT) flashes amber. How long does it flashes for before it goes off?
Goes off after 60 seconds, if not reset
Which VHF system is available in EMER ELEC?
VHF1
What is the emergency frequency? What about for the fire service?
121.5
(121.6 for fire)
What happens if the cabin evacuation CMD push button on the FAP is pressed whilst the CAPT and PURS/CAPT switch is in CAPT position?
It will not activate an evacuation in the aircraft. It only sounds the cockpit horn for 3 seconds.
