What is the open config with regards to the ventilation system?

A

This is on the ground when both the Inlet valve and the outlet valve are in the open position.

What is the closed config with regards to the ventilation system?

A

This is in flight when the inlet and outlet valves are closed. In this config the skin heat exchanger is utilised. Air is fed from the cockpit and avionics bay.

What is the intermediate config?

A

This is when the outlet valve is partially open. For smoke etc.

What is the abnormal config?

What happens when you push either the blower or the extract override?

A

This is when the Blower or Extract PB is set at OVRD.

If either is selected. closed config is commanded.

Blower override = Blower fan stops. Extract continues.

Extract override = both fans continue to run.

What do you see for a smoke warning with regards to the ventilation system?

A

You will see both fault lights on the blower and extract. By putting both of these to OVRD. The air conditioning supplies cooling air which is then exhausted overboard. The blower fan stops.

What is the smoke config in the ventilation system?

A

Both to OVRD. air conditioning supplied cooling air which is exhausted overboard via the sightly open outlet valve. Blower stopped. Extract continues
