How do right realists believe biological differences causes crime?
certain personality traits such as low intelligence, aggressive and risk-taking behaviour can cause the liklihood of someone commiting a crime as these are personality traits are innate
inadequate socialisation - how does it cause crime?
if you aren’t given effective socialisation then you could lack self-control and correct values
what is the best type of the family to receive effective socialisation?
a nuclear family
What do murray believe about nuclear families?
welfare dependency can cause a lack of socialisation as the fathers role is taken by the state. Therefore fathers will become absent and this can cause boys to have a lack of discipline and turn to deliquent role models.
Rational choice theory
The rational choice theory is believed by right realistists that criminals make rational judgement which is weighing consequences and rewards
what is the routine activity theory?
For a crime to occur, 3 things is necessary:
->motivated offender
->suitable target
->absence of capale guardian
What is displacement?
When an offender moves their attention to a softer target, crime doesn’t decline it just moves.
