What is a Swim Lane Diagram useful for showing?
A: Responsibilities, hand offs, inter-departmental communication, and process phases.
What are Relationship Maps useful for showing?
A: Organizational reporting structure, ancestry or genealogy, connections between ideas, chain of decision-making responsibility
What is a spaghetti diagram useful for showing?
A: Areas of congestion, improper placement of machines or workstations, total distance traveled for a task.
How does a SIPOC diagram relate to process mapping
The processes in a SIPOC form a simple, high level process map. Each of the process boxes can be expanded in more detail.
