What is the difference be a goal and a target condition?
A: The goal is the guiding light that we are working towards, while target conditions are steps towards the vision/goal. Target conditions should be ambitious but achievable, used when the path is uncertain. Moving with a compass vs a map.
What is the importance of going to see?
A: It allows you to be certain of what is going on, removing the I think, I believe, I bet, and Probably from the conversation.
What is the difference between Value Add and Non-Value Add?
A: Value add transforms material or information, customer is willing to pay for it, meets specifications. Non-value add and necessary non-value add are activities the customer is not willing to pay for.

What is the purpose of 5S?
A: To identify problems
What is standard work?
A: Is the practice of setting, communicating, following, and improving standards. Establishing standard work creates, clarifies, and shares information about the most efficient method to perform a task that is currently known with everyone performing that process. Work instructions documenting best practices.
What is visual management?
A: Displays vital information at a glance, allows for quick decision making, cues should require little explanation, visual displays show the status of a key metric
What is value stream mapping?
A: A comprehensive map detailing all processes required to make a product or service. Shows both material and information flow. Builds a total lead time – cycle time, change over, and inventory waiting.
