MOS
- Access only those information systems to which authorization has been granted, and under circumstances required in the execution of lawful duty.
- Abide by any security terms/conditions associated with the info system, including those governing user passwords, logon procedure etc.
- Disclose information to others, including other MOS only as required in the execution of lawful duty
- Confirm identity and affiliation of request or of info and determine that release of info is lawful prior to disclosure.
- Maintain confidentiality of info accessed, created, recurved, disclosed, or otherwise maintained during course of duty
This also applies to oral transmission of info contained in any dept info system. It is member whose logged on to department infos responsibility to not allow a third party to access the confidential info. It is the logged on members responsibility to prevent other persons from recording or transcribing info for the purposes of unauthorized use (taking a cellphone video of body worn camera footage). Members who observe or become aware of such misconduct are to comply with pg 207-21 allegations of corruption and other misconduct against members of service. Members may be held accountable when due to their failure to safeguard info a third party gains access.
Members of their service who fail to adhere to the above guidelines may be subject to disciplinary and or criminal action
