Plays were played anywhere, in the streets with the actors moved by a wagon, then they moved to a building.

At first, the actors were amateurs, then it developed into something more and professional with companies establishing in the 16th c. that had actors under patronage, thus protecting them from puritan interventions and censorship.

From 1590, after Erasmus, the man was put in the centre of the universe, making him responsible for his destiny, actions, etc.

What can you say about the topic of hell and heaven of that time?
After the Reformation, the topic of hell/heaven became more debatable and uncertain.
