18. Ischemia Flashcards
1
Q
Definition of ischemia
A
inadequately low blood supply to tissue/organ
2
Q
What can be described as general ischemia?
A
Anemia, hypovolemia
3
Q
Reasons of pathological ischaemia:
A
- compression (from outside)
- obturation (from inside)
- vasoneurotic disrturbance (bc of NS)
4
Q
Ischaemia compressiva - ? Reasons?
A
Ischaemia due to compression from outside -› reduced blood flow
- Tympany (bloating) of some organs (e.g. rumen in cows and caecum in horses and rabbits)
- Tumors
5
Q
Ischaemia obturativa - ?
A
Ischaemia due to obturation from inside.
- Thrombus
- Embolus
6
Q
Vasoneurotic ischaemia. Reasons.
A
Angiospasm (CNS, cold, chemicals)
7
Q
What tissues are the most sensitive to ischaemia? Why?
