15
Q

Have student identify smart probes. What makes them smart?

A

The Air Data Smart Probe (ADSP) are composed of:
• Multi function probes
• Air data computer

The ADSP/TAT will sense and transmit static pressure, total pressure, angle of attack and Total Air Temperature to the Air Data System.

The angle of attack is calculated based on an interface between the static pressure of the smart probes.

Q

What is the purpose of the yellow hatch marks on the fuselage?

A

RVSM critical areas

17
Q

What equipment is required prior to entry into RVSM airspace? Do we need TCAS?

A

Transponders
either primary altimeter (CAs or FOs)
altitude alerting/capture capability
autopilot
TCAS is NOT required

18
Q

Have student identify ice detector probes

A

NA

19
Q

If both ice detector probes fail do we still have ice protection? How?

A

Yes, we can manually turn on ice protection

20
Q

Identify TAT probes

A

N/A
