1.2.10 - Explain the possible consequences of failing to involve the end-user in the design process. Flashcards
For a system to be successful, who must its production involve?
For a system to be successful, the analysis and design must involve all key stakeholders including the client and the end users.
Why is user involvement necessary?
Involvement, collaboration and active participation are critical because a project with poorly defined stakeholder goals is unlikely to be successful.
Would could happen if the user isn’t involved in the development of a system?
The developed system may either solve a different problem, or deal with issues that are outside of the project scope.
Outline the potential consequences of not involving the end user in the design process.
Without end user input there is a higher chance of designing an inappropriate solution. This may mean clients don’t use the solution. This can lead to wasted money and time. Productivity may be negatively affected.
State 4 ways to maintain constant communication between the developers and the client.
1) Surveys
2) Interviews
3) Focus groups
4) Prototype feedback
