12 - Fuel Flashcards
- How is fueling accomplished?
Single-point refueling only
- What does an IMBAL alert on the Fuel Quantity Indicator indicate?
Main tank fuel quantity differs by more than 1,000 lbs for more than 60 seconds
- What does the LOW alert on the Fuel Quantity Indicator indicate?
Either main tank has less than 2,000 lbs for 30 seconds
- What does a CONFIG alert on the Fuel Quantity Indicator indicate?
A misconfiguration of the fuel boost pumps. Shows when;
- 1,600 lbs or more in the Center tank
- both center tank boost pumps OFF
- an engine running
- What does INSUFFICIENT FUEL on the Fuel Quantity Indicator indicate?
FMC fuel at destination is predicted to be less than 2,000 lbs
- With all fuel pumps operating, what ensures center tank fuel is used before main tank
fuel?
Higher fuel pump output pressure from the center tank pumps
- When do the center tank fuel pumps shut off automatically?
After approximately 15 seconds of a continuous LOW PRESSURE light
- How is fuel provided to the engine(s) without the fuel pumps?
Main tanks can suction feed through a suction feed line that bypasses the pumps
- When does the center tank fuel scavenge jet pump activate?
When main tank #1 fuel quantity decreases to 4500 lbs or less
- What is the purpose of the crossfeed valve?
Enables either engine to be fed by the opposite main tank
- What does the engine start lever control?
The position of the fuel shutoff valves (spar and engine)
- What does a bright blue illumination of the VALVE OPEN on the Fuel panel indicate?
The respective valve is in transit or disagrees with start lever or FIRE SWITCH position
- What does the dim illumination of an ENG VALVE CLOSED light indicate?
The engine valve is closed
- What does a bright illumination of a SPAR VALVE CLOSED light indicate?
The respective valve is in transit or disagrees with start lever or FIRE SWITCH position
- Where could the APU suction feed fuel from?
Main tank 1 only
