1. What does selecting a radio transmitter switch do?
They select which radio transmitter is active and automatically enable reception on the same radio

- What is the purpose of the ALT-NORM switch on the ACP?
- NORM allows for normal operation of the ACP
- ALT allows for alternate operation (degraded mode) in the event of an ACP panel malfunction
- What is the purpose of the VHF TEST switch?
It removes the automatic squelch feature, permitting reception of background noise and thereby testing receiver operation.
- What does the white offside tuning light indicate on the RTP?
A transceiver other than the onside VHF is selected
- What is the indication of a radio failure?
The two frequency indicators show “FAIL”
- What is the indication of an RTP failure?
The frequency indicators show “PANEL FAIL”
- Which switch is used to key transmission over the selected transmitter?
The PTT switch on each hand mic
a headset boom mic has multiple PTTs for transmission;
One on each side of the glare shield, one on each control wheel
- What is the purpose of the PA hand mic on the aft electronic panel?
It is only used to make PAs
- What precautions, if any, should be taken when keying an HF radio on the ground?
Warning! Do not key the HF radio while the A/C is being fueled/defueled.
- How is an incoming SELCAL indicated?
The white call (C) light illuminated on the ACP and a chime sounds
- How are the MEDLINK headset jacks controlled?
The observer’s ACP (ACP 3)
- What is the purpose of the service interphone switch on the aft overhead panel?
It provides intercommunication between the Flight Deck, Flight Attendants, and Ground Personnel
- How are incoming calls from the passenger cabin handsets indicated?
When 2 is pressed on a cabin handset, it sounds a chime and illuminates the CABIN call light on the ACP
- What does the GRD CALL switch do when pushed?
It sounds a horn in the nose wheel well
- What does the ATTEND switch do when pushed?
Pushing the ATTEND switch sounds a two-tone chime in the Passenger Cabin and illuminates both pink Master Call lights in the cabin
