Navy Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH) Program
Addresses the maintenance of safe and healthy conditions in the workplace.
Administrative Inspections
Evaluates the security, military fitness, or good order and discipline of the crew.
Ensuring the command is properly equipped and personnel is fit for duty.
Zone Inspections
Ship’s Force ensure proper measures are taken to keep machinery, spaces, and equipment operational and in a satisfactory state of preservation.
Involves the entire CoC
DIVO Responsibilities:
Ensure the spaces are ready for inspections
3M Assessment
Ensure the 3M program is properly managed and maintenance is being done.
Conducted by ATG
Mid-cycle assessment conducted 11-18 months from last assessment
Two phases of 3M
3M Program Assessment
PMS Assessment
Inspection and Survey (INSURV)
Provides assurance regarding a unit’s ability to perform.
Conducted at least every 5 years.
Physical inspection of the ship.
Afloat Training Group (ATG)
Evaluates various parts of the ship whether it be training teams, admin, or the ship itself.
Seabag Inspection
E3 and below - conducted at regular intervals; inspected prior to transfer
E4-E6 - Inspected on an individual basis
