Six months after completion of FITREP/EVAL
Why do we have EVALs/FITREPs?
Must be maintained on naval personnel “which reflect their fitness for the service and performance of duties.”

Non-Observed
Fulfill reporting requirements during period of brief service when a detailed assessment cannot be provided.
Not greater than 90 days
Concurrent Reports
For members fulfilling additional duty or temporary duty.
Not directly observed by the regular reporting senior.
Letter of Extension
Submitted to extend the period of observation of the individual up to 90 days.
Detachment of Individual, Reporting Senior, Periodic, Frocking.
When are Counselings mandatory?
Mid-term performance (at the midpoint of the periodic report cycle)
Debrief (at the signing of the periodic report)
Types of Selection Boards
Statutory
Administrative
Screen
Statutory Boards
Include promotion (including special and spot promotion), selective early retirement (SERB), and the various continuation boards.
Formal record review by the briefer assigned to review.
Administrative Boards
Make selections which were once made by committees within Naval Personnel Command (NPC) or by Placement.
Required for an application package, which are reviewed by board members.
Example: Graduate Education Voucher (GEV), Active Duty Redesignation Board
Screen Boards
Occur at certain milestones in a Sailor’s career.
Examples:
Promotion board
Augmentation board

Officer Service Record (OSR) & Performance Summary Record (PSR)
Correspondance
Electronic Service Record
Contains a member’s EVALs/FITREPs, picture, personal awards, and other matters of official record.
