Trinity SOW and Analysis

A

“As soon as Jesus was baptised, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said. This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3: 16-17 (NIV)

“Spirit of god”- The ‘Spirit of God’ is the
Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes from the Father to help Jesus begin his ministry

“voice from heaven”-The ‘voice from heaven’ is the Father. The Father
gives his approval of Jesus’ ministry,

“My son”- Jesus is the son of God

This is an important source of wisdom and authority about the Trinity because it shows that God is three separate persons who coexist and work together as one

23
Q

Christians believe the Father is the all-powerful creator, who cares for everything he creates. How does this affect the life of Christians today?

A

Christians pray to the Father in the
knowledge that he cares for them and is
powerful enough to answer their prayers.

24
Q

The Son became a human being in Jesus.
He came into the world to teach people
how to live good, loving, and faithful lives. How does this affect the life of Christians today?

A

Christians follow the example set by Jesus
in their own lives and look to him as a role
model.

25
Q

The Son died to redeem the sins of

humanity. How does this affect the life of Christians today?

A

Worship is often happy and joyful, as

Christians express their thanks to Jesus for the sacrifice he made.

26
Q

The Trinity is a loving relationship, where

three persons coexist in a perfect unity. How does this affect the life of Christians today?

A

The love of the Trinity inspires Christians to show love towards others.

27
Q

How does the Trinity affect the daily lives of Christians?

A

Christians bless themselves by making the
sign of the cross and offer prayers “in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit”

Prayers such as the Lord’s Prayer, Nicene
Creed and Apostles’ Creed refer to the Trinity.

Some Church hymns refer to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The belief in the Trinity is intended to be at the centre of each Christian’s individual daily relationship with God.
