It is an object purpose/what it is used for.
What is the definition of structure?
How an object is made or what it is made of
Are structure and function directly impacted by each other?
Yes, they are.
How are structure and function related?
An object’s function is reliant on its structure, its structure was made like to to do the best it can.
If a tire’s shape was to change, would it roll better or worse? Why?
It would roll worse because the wheel is the best way for a tire to rotate.
What makes something living?
Its ability to grow and maintain homeostasis.
Are viruses living?
No, they are not living.
What are some examples of living things?
People, corn, onions, birds, chickens.
What are some examples of nonliving things?
Rocks, Sinks, markers, etc…
How do you tell the difference between living and nonliving objects?
By using the PMC model.
What does PMC stand for and what does each level represent.
PMC stands for Program, Metabolism, and Container. The program level tells us how something works(DNA), Metabolism is how they get their energy, and its container is what it is made of.
What is the smallest level of organization?
An atom
What is the largest level of organization?
The Biosphere
Is an organ or organ system larger?
An organ system is larger.
