10.3 Study Guide Flashcards
Trophic Levels
Producer -> Primary Consumer -> Secondary Consumer -> Tertiary Consumer -> Quaternary Consumer.
Autotroph vs Heterotroph
Autotrophs make their own food while Heterotrophs eat the food made by Autotrophs.
Herbivore vs. Omnivore vs. Carnivore vs. Detritivore
Herbivores eats plants, Omnivores eats plants and meat, Carnivores only eat meat, and Detritivores eat dead things by decomposing them.
Keystone Species
A species detrimental to the survival of the whole trophic. Without it, it collapses. Helps with diversity too.
Trophic Cascade
The indirect interactions between species.
Food Web vs Trophic Cascade
Food Web is good at direct interactions and Trophic Cascade is good at indirect interactions.
