10 Principals and Methods Flashcards
List the 5 training principles
Frequency, intensity, duration, specificity and progression
Describe training frequency
Number of sessions per week and must include rest.
Describe training intensity
How hard a session will be determined by % MHR
Describe training duration
Duration of training program or Duration of session
Describe training specificity
The training needs to replicate the requirements of the sport.
Describe training progression (overload)
Gradually making training harder than your existing capacity in order to stress the body to make changes.
List 4 training methods
Continous, Fartlek, Resistance, flexibility
Describe continous training
This involves a continuous training activity involving the whole body
Describe fartlek training
Type of continuous training. High intensity efforts followed by lower intensity efforts.
Describe Resistane training using an example
Use of weight to impact muscle structure.
Tests should be done in an order that minimises the impact on future tests.
Order of Fitness tests
Frequency, intensity, duration, specificity and progression
Training principles
Number of sessions per week and must include rest
Training frequency
How hard a session will be. Intensity is usually determined by % MHR
Training intensity
Duration (time) of training program (eg.6 weeks) or Duration (time) of session (eg. 60mins)
training duration
