Pathogens are spread:

  1. by AIR - eg Flu - sneeze and spreads in water droplets
  2. By DIRTY WATER - eg CHOLERA (drinking water polluted by sewage)
  3. By DIRECT CONTACT - eg AIDS - DRUG USERS share infected needles or by SEXUAL CONTACT

Reduce the spread of Pathogens:

  1. WASH HANDS BEFORE EATING
  2. Provide CLEAN DRINKING WATER - eg in UK water contains CHLORINE which kills MICROBES
  3. CONDOM during sex to prevent the spread of HIV
  4. Infectious diseases the patient made be ISOLATED eg Ebola
  5. Reduce spread of Pathogen by VACCINATION
