Diet, exercise and lifestyle changes Metformin added 7% HbA1c - Sulphonylurea added 7.5% Hba1c - TZD (PPAR agonist), one of the newer hypoglycaemics, or start Insulin therapy 7.5+% HvA1c - uptitrate insulin
